He was predeceased by: his father Ellsworth Shaw, Sr.; his brother-in-law Adolph Taylor; his nephew Melvin Shaw, Jr.; and his great-niece Amiyah K. Johns. He is survived by: his mother Rebecca Shaw of Claremont, Virginia; his siblings, Linda Taylor of Hopewell, Virginia, Ellsworth Shaw, Jr. of Spring Grove, Jerome Shaw of Spring Grove, Carolyn Mills of Hopewell, Melvin Shaw of Bradenton, Grace Shaw of Spring Grove, Norman Shaw (Mary) of Spring Grove and Randy Shaw (Sonya) of Prince George, Virginia.; his aunts, Ethel Shaw (Thurman) of Spring Grove and Ennie Shaw of Claremont, Virginia; his nieces, Kaniesha Roberts (Dontonio) and Dontressa Ginther; and his friend Johnny Trent. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803). A wake will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Morning Star Baptist Church (19121 Brandon Rd, Spring Grove, VA 23881). A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at the Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery (19121 Brandon Rd, Spring Grove, VA 23881).
