She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Lee and Beulah Pearl Andrews May; her daughter Tammy Lynette Brown; and her siblings, Edwin "Buddy" May, Berlin May, Basil May, Ralph May, Carlos May, Danny May, Freddie May, Edith Ehlers, Christine Young, Barbara Carpenter and Pat Shiflett.
She is survived by: her husband John Wayne Brown; her daughter Susan Brown Honts; her sister Rita Sue Terry (Brance) of Covington; her sister-in-law Gloria Sams of Staunton; her granddaughter McKenzie Renee Honts; and her pet Butters. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA 24426.
