He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobby McCoy and Alma Campbell McCoy; his wife Kim Campbell McCoy; and his father-in-law Walter Campbell. He is survived by: his sons, Bobby McCoy of Radford and Walter McCoy of Middleburg, FL; his sisters, Vickie McCoy Garrett of Phoenix, AZ and Lorrie McCoy Mynes of Staunton; his mother-in-law Suzanne Campbell of Covington; and his nieces and nephews, Gary Wayne Garrett of Virginia, Evan Garrett of Virginia, Jason Fender of Virginia, Ritchie Fender of Virginia, Jacob Gump of Virginia, Sammy Armentrout of Virginia, Brian Graham of Virginia, Tyler Curtis of Virginia, DeAnna Beatty, Kristen Mynes, Taylor Armentrout, Brittany Graham, Jordan Simmons and Courtney Franklin. He is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions for the purposes of assisting the family cover the expenses of Jeff's funeral service.
