He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Stanford Drennen and Thelma Louise Burdette Drennen; and his great grandchild Gary Lee Knick, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Helga Tucker Drennen; his children, Cynthia Quantz (Stephen Greenblatt) of Covington and Eric Drennen (Melissa) of Clifton Forge; his siblings, Edward Drennen (Rita) of Clintonville, WV, Vicky Drennen of Hines, WV, Alan Drennen of Hines, WV, Julie Haught (Gene) of Atlanta, ID and Natalie Posten (J. R.) of Peterstown, WV; and his grandchildren, Amber Lilly (Scott), Hayley Drennen, Cedric Drennen (Gretchen), Randall Deschler (Ella), Sommer Hostetter (Sam), Angel Foster (Scott), Matthew Quantz, Jr. (Naomie) and Trevor Quantz (Brooklyn). He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home (405 Alleghany St, Clifton Forge, VA 24422). A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
