He is survived by : his wife Emma Jean Shanks of Millboro; his children, Wanda Higgs of Bridgewater, Garry Shanks (Jo Ann) of Millboro and Amy Coleman (Jeff) of Charlottesville; his grandchildren, Tim Poe (Tonya), Jon Higgs, W. Higgs (Kim), Jimmy Higgs (Stephanie), Julie Wagoner (Mike), Justin Shanks (Cara), Leah Duesterhaus (Andrew) and Tyler Coleman; his great grandchildren, Kayla Shanks, Clayton Wagoner, Camden Wagoner, Nora Jean Shanks of Josephine Shanks, T. J, Brooke Spitzer, Patrick Stover, Henley Higgs, Davis Higgs, William Higgs, Katherine Higgs, Dakota Higgs, Chloe Higgs and Gavin Higgs; his great great grandchildren, Elijah Poe, Braelynn Knight and Leighton Stover; his pet Shep; and his grandsons, Clayton Wagoner, Camden Wagoner and Mike Shanks. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
