She was predeceased by : her father James Phillip Dame; her husband Sanford Dunmore "Sam" Nicely, Sr.; and her son-in-law Sonny Johnson. She is survived by : her children, Deborah Johnson, Lynn Whitehead (Jerry), Tammy Long (Bobby) and Sam Nicely, Jr. (Jill); her grandchildren, Trey Johnson, Billie Jo Craft (Matt), Erica Zafiris (George), Emily Lolandes (Omar), Alison Pillow (Jonathan), Brandi Long, Kayleigh Long, Cody Long, Devin Nicely and Bram Nicely; her great grandchildren, Jackson Westfall, Reese Zafiris, Marley Zafiris, Oliver Lolandes, Luca Lolandes, Corbin Pillow, Nolan Pillow and Cohen Long; and her sister-in-law Frances Nicely. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Central Advent Christian Church, 3515 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
