She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Lewis Crowder and Alpha Mildred Bowen Crowder; her husband Virgil Brownie Slayton; her children, Glenna Fisher and Michael A. Slayton; her son-in-law Michael A. Andrews; her siblings, Irene Glenn, Georgie Johnson, Shelby Crizer and Bobby Crowder; and her grandsons, Richard O'Conner and Jonathan O'Conner.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Andrews of Covington and Barbara VanLew of Salem; her grandchildren, Wallace O'Conner, Jr. (Kim), Megan Wardle (Matt), Robert Andrews (Shania), Sara Slayton Oldendorf (Ken) and Emily Slayton Gherman (Thomas); her great grandchildren, Cameron O'Conner, Kaylee O'Conner, Kenny Oldendorf, Kyle Oldendorf, Abraham Gherman, Wyatt Gherman and Leah Wardle; her close friend Dennis Wampler; and her pet Sudie.
She served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.
