He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip M. Heighter, Sr. and Lillian Jones Heighter; and his siblings, Laurie Dawson, Phillip, Jr., Lorenzo, William James and Irving Berlin.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara JoAnn Brown Heighter of Clifton Forge; his niece Natasha Jackson (Bishop) of Covington; his great-nieces, Averiana Stewart and Zoe Berryman; his nieces, Sue Carroll and Beneatha Heighter; his close friends, Debbie Peters and Sederia Butler; and also Iyla Berryman. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home (405 Alleghany St, Clifton Forge, VA 24422).
