It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Valerie Jane Combs (Clifton Forge, Virginia), who passed away on February 13, 2023, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Claude William Mitchell Vess; and her sister-in-law Joan Vess. She is survived by: her husband Darrell Eugene Combs; her daughter Heather Combs; her stepchildren, Tammy Tyree and Kevin Combs (Pam); her parent Carissa Higgins; her brothers, Michell Lee Vess (Ann), Mark Leslie Vess, Dr. Steven Ellery Vess (Cheryl), William "Kent" Vess (Brenda) and Christopher Shawn Vess (Kelly); and her grandchildren, Khloe Combs, Mackenzie Howard, Samuel Combs, Brett Combs, Bryson Allen, Jamir Higgins, Ambrosia Higgins and Noah Higgins. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
