He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smith and Alpha Elizabeth Kiser Phillips; and his siblings, Creed, Emory, Fred, Joe Phillips, Francis Stallard, Edna Jenkins and Eula Stanley.
He is survived by: his sisters, Beuna Vanover and Janice Martin of Clintwood, VA.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home (202 McClure Ave, Clintwood, VA 24228). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel (202 McClure Ave, Clintwood, VA 24228).
