It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Herndon of Coeburn, Virginia, who passed away on August 29, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bascom Herndon and Ethel Williams Herndon. He is survived by: his wife Lola Herndon; his children, Kim Hofecker (Mitch) of Harrisonburg, Virginia and Aubrey Herndon (Mekayla) of St. Paul, Virginia.; his grandchildren, Tammy Sutton, Jennifer Burgess, Ashley Mawyer, Lori Wilson, Christi Hofecker, Brody Robinette and Grace Hofecker; and his siblings, Janice Kelly of Montgomery, Geraldine Sirotek of Florida, Lorraine Bryan of Aurora, Becky Herndon of Castlewood, Barbara Rowe of Cortland, Gladys Beavers of Abingdon, Edith Gaynell Van Dorn of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Clyde Herndon of Holgate, John Herndon of Abingdon and James Herndon of Oswego, Illinois.

Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Ray Herndon will be conducted at 11:00 a. m., Thursday, September 3, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Curtis Bond officiating.
