He was predeceased by: his parents, Welford Taft and Mary Odell Sandridge Shifflett; his sister Ellen Turner; his son Todd Shifflett; and his pet Patches.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his stepsons, Aaron Clift (Ashley) and Wyatt Clift (Laureana); his grandchildren, Wesley, Wayland, Lily and Willow; and his sister Lottie Blincoe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
