She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Whitfield Dobyns and Dorothy Belle Dobyns; her husband Harry Burns Hargis; her son Harry Whitfield Hargis; her grandson Vaughn Whitfield Hargis; her sister Helen Rickard; and her close friend George Baxter.
She is survived by: her sons, William A. Hargis (Kirsten) of Winchester and Charles L. Hargis (Gretchen) of Kitty Hawk, NC; her grandchildren, Eric L. Wilhelm (Jesse), Lachlan B. Hargis (Becca), Grace Hargis (Travis), Sarah J. Hargis (Nevin Harker), Rives W. Hargis, Tracy E. Hargis, Keirry H. Hargis, Ty E. Hargis and Raye Ann Yoo (Jin-Woo Yoo); her great grandchildren, Summer Wilhelm, Devin Wilhelm, Alice Wilhelm, Nolan Wilhelm, Charlotte A. Harker and Leonidas Herbst-Hargis; her niece Susan Rickard; her nephew David Rickard (Judy); her great-niece Sydney; her friends, Lewis and Christie Archileti; her close friend Catherine Vernon; Joshua and Tiffany Elling.
