She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee S. Hicks and Helen Jones Hicks; her husband John M. Buren; and her siblings, Maxine H. Gunnell, Bright T. Hicks, Sam L. Hicks and Jack B. Hicks.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl F. Sheppard (Randy) of Goochland and John T. Buren of Colonial Heights; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Nichole Sheppard, Douglas Sheppard and Katy McCloud. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
