He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Stanley and James Arvis; and his wife Cleo Richards Arvis. He is survived by: his children, James C. Arvis of Florida and Pamela A Landen (Charles Landen Jr.); his grandsons, Brent of Arizona and Craig of Arizona; his nephew Thomas J. Arvis II; and his caregivers, Donnet Marshall and Chanel Brown. He is also survived by relatives and special friends.

He was a member of the local American Legion, VFW, and Elks Foundation.
