He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Vernon Bowen and Mildred Crowder Bowen; and his wife Chris Tukiendorf Bowen. He is survived by: his friend Chick; his sons, Steven (Andrea), Daniel (Amy) and Kevin (Kate); his grandchildren, AJ, Easton, Bennett, Ellie, Addy, Patrick, Barrett, Colton and Sullivan; and his siblings-in-law, Gigi, David (Phillip) and Eddy (Denise). He is also survived by numerous loving cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home (3935 S Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (http://www.alzdiscovery.org) in Rickey's memory.
