She was predeceased by: her parents, Lola May Wood and William James Whitt; and her brother James W. Whitt. She is survived by: her spouse G. D. Gilliam; her children, Stephanie G. Harrison (Louis) of Bedford, Glenn W. Gilliam (Frances) of Concord, Duane D. Gilliam (Stephanie) of Appomattox, James G. Gilliam (Lorraine) of Ruckersville, Thomas A. Gilliam (Debbie) of Appomattox and Karen G. Lawson (Raymond) of Appomattox; her siblings, Sharon W. Thornton of Chesterfield, William B. Whitt (Carol) of Cobbs Creek and Ronald H. Whitt (Billie) of Wicomico Church; and her sister-in-law Carolyn Whitt of Woodbridge. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
