George William Vassar Obituary

He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Lou Tweedy Vassar; his parents, Fred Starkey Vassar and Kathleen Oakes Vassar; his daughter Bonnie Vassar Elliott-Layne; his son-in-law Bruce Clements; and his grandson Adam Clements.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Singleton Williams Vassar; and his children, Ronnie William Vassar (Debbie) of Concord, Georgia Vassar Shull (Scott) of Concord and Scarlet "Scotti" Vassar Clements of Rustburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Kedron Baptist Church (7862 Brookneal Hwy, Gladys, VA 24554). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
