She was predeceased by: her parents, Dolphus Johnson and Gwen Frantz Johnson; her son David "Monkey" Bennett; her siblings, Barbara Cales, Nancy Neely, Jerry Johnson and Edward Johnson; and the father of her children Arthur G. Bennett.

She is survived by: her daughters, Terri Perkins (Wayne) of Catawba and Lisa Morris (Eric) of Covington; her grandchildren, Jessica Perkins of Charlotte, NC and Seth Perkins of Catawba; and her siblings, Curtis Johnson (Nancy), Maxine Payne, Mary Tucker, Dorothy Tucker and Linda Eggleston.
