He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Bryan Deacon and Sarah Duling Deacon; and his brothers, Claude William Deacon and John Reagan Deacon. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ann Reynolds; his children, Charles Michael Deacon of Roanoke, John Scott Deacon (Kathleen) of Roanoke and Kathy Deacon Broughman (George) of Clifton Forge; his grandchildren, Kelly Deacon Eikenberg (Josh) of Hawaii, Justin Michael Broughman (Kaitlin) of Stephens City, Virginia, Lauren Broughman Turpin (DJ) of Big Island, Virginia and Sarah Deacon Epperly (Lucas) of Roanoke; his stepgrandson Clinton Jeffrey Colquhoun of Roanoke; and his great grandchildren, Sadie Rose Turpin of Big Island and Lily Rachel Turpin of Big Island. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
