He was predeceased by : his parents, Dennie Stewart and Leatha Stewart; his son William Stewart (Boo); his parents-in-law, Charles and Priscilla Twitty; his sister Rhoda; his brothers-in-law, Mike Lewis and Tommy Sampson of Ashburn; and his nephew Bryan Palmer.

He is survived by : his wife Priscilla Twitty Stewart of Covington; his daughter Charlesetta Spinner Davis of Covington; his siblings, Carolyn Palmer (James) of Indianapolis, Rev. Rosetta Stewart, Darlene Stewart, Cora Poteat (James) of Covington, Deborah Sampson of Clifton Forge, Denise Stewart Jackson, Leonard Stewart (Leah) of Maryland, James Stewart (Eleanor) of North Carolina and Thomas Dickerson, Jr. of Covington; his uncle Rev. Charles R. Nowlin, Sr. (Sandra) of Indiana; his daughter-in-law Virginia Stewart of Covington; his grandsons, Truman and Liam Stewart of Covington; and his siblings-in-law, Diana, Derlene Twitty of Covington, Charles, Linwood, Steven (Elizabeth), Gary of Covington and William Twitty (Winifred) of Richmond. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many very special dear friends.
