He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis "Bill" Catlett and Hattie Boggs Catlett; his daughter Angela Yvonne Catlett; his siblings, Billy T. Catlett, George F. Catlett and Rachel Catlett Smith; and his sister-in-law Linda Frame.
He is survived by: his wife Miriam Smith Catlett of Covington; his children, Susan Elmore (Mark) of Clifton Forge and David L. Catlett, Jr. of Covington; his grandchildren, Richard Hoke, Jr., Chistopher Hoke, Patrick Hoke, Kelsey Tolley, Hayden Catlett, Callie Sweeney and Joshua Elmore; and his brother-in-law Henry Messer.
