She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Charlie Simmons and Betty Akers Simmons; and her sister Gail Foster. She is survived by: her spouse Glen R. Hugus; her children, Levi Curtis Hugus (Carlee) of Covington, Ty Richard Hugus (Zahara Alamood) of Covington and Hope Abigail Tincher (Caleb) of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Wren Mae Hugus and Ellie Mae Tincher; and her siblings, Andrew Simmons, Kenny Simmons, Charles Simmons, Calvin Simmons, Gene Simmons, Rachel Arnett, Janeice Atwood of Roanoke and Julie Kirk of Virginia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Road Atlanta GA 30309.
