He was predeceased by: his mother Bettie Stone Forbes. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Moseley Forbes; his father Fred Fenton Forbes, Jr.; his children, Fred Fenton Forbes, IV of Roanoke, Heather Forbes Wright of Roanoke and Brittany Latasha Forbes; and his sisters, Elizabeth Forbes Hatfield (Gary) of Troutville, Carla Forbes Arritt (Kirk) of Covington and LeAnn Forbes Stout (Jeremy) of Covington. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
In 2021, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions began to ease and Covington City Council reinstituted in-person meetings again, Fred became a regular attendee.
Despite only serving one term on Covington City Council, Fred's contributions to the betterment of the city and her residents will be felt for many years to come.
