We announce the death of Gregory Via of Covington, Virginia, who passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 64. Gregory will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Julian Via and Maxine Morris Via; and his niece Michelle Gregory. He is survived by: his sisters, Dreama Finney of Berryville, VA and Jane Sexton of Oak Hill, WV; his fiancée Kathy Hinkle (family: Travis Hinkle, Miranda Hinkle, Tyler Hinkle, Hunter Hinkle, Isaiah Wood, Rowen Pritt); his nephews, Brad Sexton of Hickory, NC, Todd Finney of Winchester, VA and Patrick Finney of Hedgeville, WV; his pet Layla; Joshua Crane of Winchester, VA and Steven Crane of Berryville, VA.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home (350 N Maple Ave, Covington, VA 24426).
