He was predeceased by : his parents, James Franklin Proffitt, Sr. and Frances Helmintoller Profitt; his wife Bonnie Taylor Profitt; and his sister Barbara Menefee. He is survived by : his children, Rusty Proffitt (Charlotte) of Richmond and Shelly Johnson (David) of Covington; his brothers, Carson Proffitt of Covington and David Fountaine of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Destiny, Jacob, Hope, Antonio Proffitt, Taylor and Abby Johnson; and his niece Fran Arrington (Sam).
