She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Kelly and Carlos Kelly Downey; her husband Thomas Kern; her son-in-law Donnie Crosier; her sister Doris; and her brother-in-law Wayne Averill.

She is survived by: her children, Lesley Crosier and Rodney Broughman of Covington; her sister Mary Nicely of Clifton Forge; and her grandchildren, Madison Crosier, Zachray Chase Sorrells, Kameron Broughman and Dalton Broughman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
