She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Brown and Ida Brown; her husband Melvin S. Bess; her stepmother Bessie Brown; her children, Kathy Bess, Thelma Korman, Ryland Bess and Norman Bess; her grandson Charles Cole; and her great great grandchild Emma Arthur.
She is survived by: her daughter Charlotte Offerman of Akron, OH; her daughters-in-law, Linda Bess of Covington and Ella Bess of Union, OH; her great grandchildren, Darrell Bess (Vicky) of Covington, David Bess (Lorie) of Covington and Danny Bess (Sherry) of Covington; her sister Bertie Dixon of Summersville, WV; and her half-brother Bob Brown of West Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
