She was predeceased by: her parents, William Cazenove Gardner and Catherine Cocke Gardner; and her siblings, Edmund Gardner, William C. Gardner, Harrison Gardner and Harriet G. Meadows.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Carroll Phillips; and her daughters, Catherine P. Rubin (Robert) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Elisabeth P. Taylor (Jonathan) of Rochester Hills, MI. She is also survived by two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 136 N. Maple Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
