It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monika Gilkeson (Covington, Virginia), who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Rettig and Martha Strasdeck Rettig; and her brother Klaus Rettig. She is survived by: her husband Joe Gilkeson of Covington; her daughter Nicole Pendleton (Raymond) of Daleville; and her grandchildren, Eva Pendleton of Daleville and Grant Pendleton of Daleville. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
