We announce the death of Preston Rucker Sr. of Covington, Virginia, who passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Curtis and Catherine Rucker; his wife Betty Haynes Rucker; his son Preston G. Rucker, Jr.; and his siblings, Lyle Rucker and Geraldine Adams.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Nida (Mark) of Covington, Billy Rucker (Annemie) of Purcellville and Jerry Rucker (Julie) of Covington; his grandchildren, Amanda Rucker (Barry), Ann Marie Newton (Jessie), Jeremy Rucker, Britty Rucker (Shane), Willy Rucker (Erica), Victor Rucker, Max Rucker, Shavonnah Tallent (Blake), P. G. Rucker, Brooke Perkins (Randy) and Ashley Johnson (Dujuan); and his sisters, Corrine Hicks and Diane Peters of Covington. He is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
