With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert McCoy Sr. of Covington, Virginia, who passed away on April 16, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, John Omer and Goldie Jackson McCoy; and his siblings, Warren McCoy, James McCoy, Wayne McCoy, Wanda Perry and Addie Childs.

He is survived by : his wife Katherine Montgomery McCoy of Covington; his children, Robert McCoy, Jr. (Christine) of McMurray, PA, Jason Lee (Roseann) of Covington, Julie McQuade (Corey) of Athens, WV and Robin Jackson (Robert) of Covington; his grandchildren, Carson McCoy, Kimber McCoy, Tyler Jackson and Fisher Lee; his sisters, Barbara Shannon of Pittsburg, OK and Linda Germeroth of Frederick, MD; and his pet Hedi. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved companion.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM and at 5:00 PM. A memorial service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home (1102 S Highland Ave, Covington, VA 24426). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home (1102 S Highland Ave, Covington, VA 24426).

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Mountain Valley UMC, 5316 Hayes Gap Road, Covington, VA 24426; Andrew Chapel UMC, Williamsburg, WV; or the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA 24426.
