He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Persinger and Janice Marie Armentrout Lemon; his former wife Dorothy Hancock Persinger; his wife Rosemary Bailey Persinger; and his brother Robert Eugene Persinger.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Porterfield (Danny) of Louisa and Jeff Persinger (Jen) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Chelsie Porterfield, Josh Porterfield, Julia Porterfield (Alex Eckenrode), Bethany Rogers (Kevin), Trevor Bartholomew, Rachael Bartholomew and Mason Persinger; his great grandchild Grace Craig; and his sisters, Sequita Painter (Butch) of Maple Fork, WV and Penny Mobley (Jack) of Beckley, WV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
