It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wiley Wayne Sampson (Covington, Virginia), who passed away on October 22, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sampson and Elvira Wilhelm Sampson; and his sisters, Violet Hayward, Ruby Leffel and Phyllis Booth.

He is survived by: his daughters, Angela S. Tucker (Mark) of Covington and Sherri Mitchell (Jeff) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Sarah Blevins of Staunton and Jedediah Mitchell of Bedford; and his siblings, Juanita Messer of Covington, Irene Aynes, Shirley Burdette (Richard), Basil Sampson of Covington, Darrell Sampson (Julie McCormick) of Covington and Gene Sampson of Covington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial donations in Mr. Sampson's name be made to the Falling Spring Fire and Rescue Department at P.O. Box 880 Covington, VA 24426.
