She was predeceased by: her husband Walter "Buddy" Carter, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Ann Casavant of Richmond, VA and Debra Bowry (John) of Nottoway, VA; her stepchildren, David Carter (Ginger), Peggy Booth, Cindy Jenette and Steve Carter (Judi); and her brother Robert Snead (Betty). She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
