It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold Preston Ritchie of Criders, Virginia, who passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Harold may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Harold touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Ritchie and Daphna May Ritchie; and his wife Betty Lou Shipe. He is survived by: his daughter Sheila Reedy of Criders; his granddaughter Sarah Burkett (Chris) of Criders; and his great grandchildren, Kairi and Whitley Burkett.
