She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilmer Lee Knighting and Nina Shifflett Knighting; her husband Albert Earl Utz; her son Thomas Lee Utz; her brothers, Lee Roy Knighting, Wilmer Lee Knighting Jr., Homer Lewis Knighting and Bobby Rogers Knighting; and her sister-in-law Mary Utz Vogel of Westminster, MD..
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy G. Utz and Linda U. Hoffman (Robert); her daughter-in-law Sara C Utz of Madison; her sister-in-law Gloria Leathers Knighting; her grandchildren, Michael Hoffman (Heidi), Joshua Hoffman (Lacy), Elizabeth Howey, Sam Utz (Linsey Katherine Ronbeck) and Nancy Belle Mitchell (Marshall); and her great grandchildren, Peyton of Madison, Scarlett of Madison, Amelia Hoffman of Madison, Parker of Madison, Paisley of Madison, Levi Hoffman of Madison, Luke of Madison, Paxton Howey of Madison, Saddie of Madison, Lillian of Madison and John Mitchell of Madison.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel (59 Edgewood School Ln, Madison, VA 22727). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Criglersville Cemetery.
