He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Melvin Whitacre and Verda Bradley Whitacre; his daughter Bridgette Whitacre of Winchester; his sisters, Donna Moran of Inwood, Tina Kelly of Cross Junction and Kimberly Whitacre of Jacksonville, FL; his pet Sky; and his son Michael Detamore. He was also cherished by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery (141 Light Rd, Winchester, VA 22603).
