With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Avie Lou Cone of Crozet, Virginia, who passed away on February 19, 2026 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Avie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Avie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Avie Cowden and John Cowden. She is survived by: her husband Charles Edward; her sister Elizabeth Katherine Cowden; her father-in-law Franz David Cone; her daughter Avie Lou Thacker (Rodney); and her grandsons, Elijah Alexander Thacker and Wesley James Thacker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont or The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
