She was predeceased by: her husband Robert "Bobby" Ellsworth Carter; her parents, Clarence Colbert and Vernie Colbert; and her sisters, Doris Jones and Barbara Keith.
She is survived by: her sister Darlene Hawkins; her children, Roberta L. Carow, Robert E. Carter (Kimberley), Carol A. Tilton (Mike) and Robin L. McAllister; and her grandchildren, Brittney Vallot (Josh), Matthew Carter, Daniel Carter, Lauren Carter, Drew Adams, Bryan Tilton (Erin), Jessica Blanton (Jon), Michelle Secord (Hunter), Ryan McAllister (Amy) and Megan Wilkinson (Christian). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clore-English Funeral Home (11190 James Monroe Hwy, Culpeper, VA 22701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
