He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Leo Burns, Sr. and Mildred Veronica Schauer Burns; and his siblings, Edward Burns, Thomas Burns and Christine Snow.
He is survived by: his wife Helena Ann Good Burns; his children, Daniel L. Burns III (Debbie), Robert K. Burns, Kenneth D. Burns (Elizabeth), Donna Burns Hodges (Phil) and David B. Burns; his granddaughters, Jacqueline Hodges and Danielle Hodges; his brother John "Jack" Burns (Edie); and his sisters-in-law, Anne Burns and Janice Robberson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Culpeper United Methodist Church (1233 Oaklawn Dr, Culpeper, VA 22701). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
