It is with sadness that the passing of David Winfrey Thornhill Sr. in Culpeper, Virginia is shared. David, born on April 10, 1935 in Boston, Virginia, passed away on October 16, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cary G. Thornhill and Dicy W. Thornhill; and his siblings, Jean Grayson, Elma Morrison and Gordon Thornhill.
He is survived by: his wife Heidi; his children, David (Alyonka), Debbie (David) and Kevin (Debbie); his grandchildren, Michael Thornhill (Tonya), Brandon (Lauren), Tony Thornhill, Shawna Gallagher (Jason), Bobby Matthews, Zeke Matthews, Josh Thornhill, Katya Chapman (Seth) and Olya Sigurdson (James); and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Elianah Carroll, Grayson, Bobbie Jo Thornhill, William Thornhill, Sean, Tyce, Piper Gallagher, Alex Taylor, Zach Thornhill, Luke, Eden Chapman, Toby and Annika Sigurdson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapels & Cremation Service (850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 7:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 8:00 AM, at 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper (850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701).
