It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Powell Staton of Culpeper, Virginia, who passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin E. Powell and Liger L. Powell; her husband Robert S. Staton; her children, Lois Poteski, Robert E. Staton and Sharon Canterbury; her daughter-in-law Sandy Staton; and her siblings, Benjamin E. Powell Jr., Bonnie Wilson and Annette Vest.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Staton (Diana) and Patsy Farrell; her sister Peggy W. Robertson; and her son-in-law Thomas Poteski. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A celebration of life was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
