She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Barron and Gracie Barron; her husband Richard L. Herbert, Sr.; her son Richard L. Herbert, Jr.; her granddaughter Lisa Marie Carter; and her siblings, Nancy Allman and Melvin Barron.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Carter (Bill) of Williamsburg, VA and Joy Valentine (Edward) of Madison, FL; her daughter-in-law Barbara F. Herbert of Front Royal, VA.; and her grandchildren, Rebecca Carter Cothran (Bryan) of Williamsburg, VA, Jason A. Carter (Lindsay) of Corpus Christi, TX, Jonathan L. Carter (Jessica) of Ruther Glen, VA, Andrew S. Carter (Ashley) of Culpeper, VA, Edward Joseph Valentine, Jr. (Eliana Goodman) of Alexandria, VA and Grace E. Valentine of Atlanta, GA..
