It is with sadness that the passing of James William Menefee (Culpeper, Virginia) is shared. James William, born on February 23, 1945, passed away on August 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Laney Menefee and Corine Wharton Menefee; his wife Peggy Cooke Menefee; his son David Lynn Menefee; and his sisters, Frances Brooks and Betty Settle.
He is survived by: his daughter Dana Hensley; his grandchildren, Steven Hensley, Mark Hensley, Megan Menefee and Justin Menefee; his great grandchildren, Brantlee, Dallas, Paisley, Holly, Kylee and Luke; and his siblings, Ruby Banks, Juanita Kenney (Larry) and George Menefee (Sally). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapels & Cremation Service (850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at the Amissville Baptist Church Cemetery (776 View Town Rd, Amissville, VA 20106).
