He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John Simon Ford, Ruth Regina Ford, David Ferman Jackson and Agnes Bell Jackson; and his aunts and uncles, William Marshall Ford, Roger "Sonny" Ford, Dora "Pete" Jamison Ford and Yvonne J. Caldwell.

He is survived by: his daughter Chelsea Renee'Ford (Mark); the mother of his child Donna Hill; his son John Gregory Ford, Jr.; his mother Denise Leninger; his siblings, Renee'Ford Lewis (Clarence) and Gary Ford, Sr. (Kelly); his grandchildren, Sevin, Saige and Skylynn Richardson; his nephews, Gary Ford, Jr. (Monica) and Benjamin Ford (Brittney); his great-nieces, Arianna Flores and Dallas Ford; and his great-nephew Jaxson Ford.
