She was predeceased by: her parents, James Butler, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Butler; her husband Melvin R. Settle; her son Howard Vernon Settle; and her siblings, Marjorie Printz, Virginia Green, James Phillip Butler, Jr., John Thelbert Butler and Robert Lee Butler.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Nicholson (Charles), Roger A. Settle and Elizabeth Settle Shifflett (Randy); her sister Lillie Mae Lookabill; her grandchildren, Tammy Nicholson-Feaganes (Tony), Brian Nicholson (Keri), Stacey Settle, Vernon Settle and Justin Shifflett (Jennifer); her great grandchildren, Tara Nicholson (Paul), Ashley Christian (Bailey), Micah Lacy, Jonah Shifflett, Trey Settle, Ciera Corbin, Natalie Nicholson and Charlee Nicholson; and her great great grandchildren, Stetson Harris, Conner Settle, Rosalie Settle and Chase Settle. She is also survived by relatives, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapels & Cremation Service (850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701-2033).
