He was predeceased by: his former wife Barbara; and his brothers, Ben, Robert and Floyd. He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Glenn (Lisa) and Laura (Gibby); his grandchildren, Whitney, Ellen, Rene (Hugh) and Kimberly (Collin); and his great grandchild Miller.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sam's name to the Fincastle Fire Department or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
