She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Parsons and Ruth Tanner Parsons; and her husband John Pettigrew Murphy, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Betty M. Ashley (Mike) of Garner; her grandchildren, Carol Anne Haskins (Perry), Samantha Whittington (Paul) and J. C. Ashley (Courtney); her great grandchildren, Christian Wright (Taylor), Emily Stewart (Taylor), Miles Ashley, Mason Ashley and Levi Whittington; and her great great grandchildren, Brayden Wright and Stetson Stewart.
Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Murphy family and the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
