She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Jennings Murphy and Audrey Harrell Murphy; her husband Edward Lee Black; and her son Dennie Wayne Black. She is survived by: her daughter Wendy Dawn Black Mies (John); and her siblings, John Robert Murphy (Susan), Susan Lausi (Michel) and Mary Daisey Murphy. She is also survived by three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel (5196 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
